In collaboration with Pavilion Dance, the Dorset AIDs Memorial Schools Educational Trust (DAMSET) and The Quay School.
Vicki and Jo (Company Assistant) spent an amazing week with the young people from The Quay School working at the Pavilion Dance studios, creating a piece that was performed in the main theatre at Pavilion Dance. Vicki and Jo collaborated with the students and their teachers devising a piece that incorporated dance, an arts exhibition and creative writing.
This project was an incredible week for all involved building the confidence and communication skills of the young people. Encouraging them to take a risk on themselves, work out of their comfort zone and achieve greatness. It was an emotional farewell as Vicki and Jo left for London after the performance on Friday 13th February but a project that they will never forget.
‘Vicki took the time to get to know us and didn’t force us to do anything we didn’t want to do… she believed in us every step of the way, even when we didn’t believe in ourselves. I can’t believe that I got on a stage in front of people and performed. I am going to seriously miss Vicki and Jo, please come back!’
